The process of taking multiple tracks and combining them into a single output. This involves adjusting volumes, EQs, compression on the track and on the main bus. We are equipped to reduce most multi-track projects down to quality mixes. We welcome your input during this process in order to provide the quality product you’re after.

Pre Mixing

During the pre mix, we clean up noise, compress for volume leveling and apply post recording, non-destructive effects. This is basically where we prepare each track for inclusion in the mix.

Mixing

Mixing itself is very much a volume thing but not just pushing and pulling the sliders for all their worth. We leverage elements like compression, EQ adjustments and panning. This reduces the need for extreme volume adjustments. We also export a mix and listen to it on a variety of speakers (phones, cars, stereos) to assure that the output will sound good no matter where the listener is.

Post Mixing

All of the channels will eventually be funneled into a main output channel. Application of effects to this channel can greatly enhance the cohesiveness of the mix. Often light compression and minimal EQ adjustments.

Hand Off

After these culminating steps, the last task is to master the track. We can do that or you can take the reigns at this point. We will give you all of the digital assets created during the session for your later usage and archiving. Please bring an external storage device with a few gigabytes of available space.
